Well, first and foremast I've been a Nicole fan since the first episode of Popstars she appeared on. I watched that show religiously. Heck, I still have all the episodes. After Eden's Crush disbanded following their label shutdown, I periodically checked to see what Nicole was up to over the past few years. I was quite excited when I found out that she had joined the Pussycat Dolls. I knew who the Dolls were mostly because of Christina Applegate, but I wasn't really a fan. I was just happy the Nicole was still singing. I had gotten wind of some of her solo songs like "I Saw You" and "Breakfast in Bed".
Fast forward a few years and I'm in college (yay!). I took a web design class last semester (almost a complete waste of my time, btw). My instructor suggested that we play around with some of the techniques and design guidelines that we learned in class, mainly focusing on the whole 30 minutes of javascript we learned (note the sarcasm).
I was sitting at home one night, bored out of my mind so I decided to try out some stuff. I had a ton of Pharrell pics on my hard drive and being the obsessed N*E*R*D fan that I am, I almost used him as the subject of my experiments. While searching for a Hello Kitty wallpaper I had, I came across some old Eden's Crush pics from a few years ago and I thought it might be fun to use Nicole as my subject, instead since I was still a fan of her work.
The first layout looked something like this:
I actually had no intention whatsoever of this site ever going live. I really was just playing around with some stuff and ended up making all the sections. I happened to show it to a classmate and she liked it. She convinced me to atleast upload the site to the web and I did. I mentioned on the Dolls official message board that I had made a Nicole site. I honestly didn't think anyone would actually visit it. The first week the site was online, I had about 100 hits. The was in April 2005.
Eventually, the site evolved into what you see today. When I put this site up I had no idea that it would actually become popular. It truly did spawn out of an experiment I did because I was bored. I still can't believe the site has had so many visits. I've come to view this site as my baby, so to speak, and thank you to everyone that has visited and given me your positive feedback and constructive criticism about it ^_^
