We reported yesterday that Nicole Scherzinger and Simon Cowell were involved in some sort of secret project with Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber and this mornign we have finally gotten some details on what turned out to be a new show.

The X Factor stars are to join Myleene Klass and Mel C for a one off TV special which will celebrate the 40 year career of the acclaimed composer and TV star.

The 90 minute show will include a sexy dance number from his hit West End musical Bombay Dreams and as well as the X Factor stars and Spice Girl, Denise Van Outen will put her history with the Lord – who sacked her from one of his BBC shows a few years ago – behind her and perform a duet with fellow Strictly Come Dancing star Kimberley Walsh. It really will be a star studded event.

Nicole Scherzinger has opened up for the first time about her departure from “The X Factor.”

In an interview with Access Hollywood correspondent Tim Vincent on Tuesday, as she announced her new role as Global Brand Ambassador for Herbal Essences, Nicole addressed parting ways with the FOX show.

“What happened?” Tim asked.

“What happened? Well, all I know is that I gave 110 percent to that show,” Nicole told Tim in Los Angeles on Tuesday. “I know everybody’s talking about it, they’re saying good, bad, they love me or hate me, but the one thing you can’t say is that I didn’t give it my all.”

Last week, FOX confirmed that Nicole, fellow judge Paula Abdul and show host Steve Jones would not be back for a second season on Simon Cowell’s singing reality competition, and Nicole told Tim she enjoyed her time on the stateside version.

“I had a wonderful experience on the show,” Nicole continued. “I loved being a part of my ‘X Factor’ family. Nothing could obviously prepare me for everything I had to go through, all the emotions and stuff, but I have no regrets. I’ve always believed in never looking back and just moving forward and I’ve got an amazing year to look forward to.”

Steve famously told Access Hollywood Live’s Billy Bush and Kit Hoover last year that if he did part ways with “The X Factor,” he’d be calling Nicole in hopes of a possible romance.

Nicole told Tim that Steve hasn’t yet reached out, and suggested that if he did, his chances weren’t particularly good.

“No,” she laughed. “He’s like a brother.”

In addition to her new Herbal Essences Global Brand Ambassador gig, Nicole has a host of music-related endeavors in the works now that she isn’t returning to “The X Factor.”

“I’m kicking off with my European headlining tour, I’m leaving in a few days for that,” she said, joking she was “actually doing choreography moves right before we were filming [this interview].”

In addition to her role in the Will Smith box office vehicle “Men in Black 3,” Nicole said she recently felt her passion reignited for musical theater.

“Last year I sang ‘Phantom of the Opera’ for the royal family and for Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, so that reignited me to want to be back in the theater again, so I think I’m gonna do some more theater work this year,” she said.

“I grew up in musical theater and I’ve always dreamed of playing Christine and Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber asked me to play Christine in ‘Phantom of the Opera’ for the royal family at the Royal Variety Show,” Nicole continued. “So I’m gonna get back to theater this year, some more movies and my album is coming out in the U.S. – my ‘Killer Love’ album, so I’m putting the finishing touches on it.”

NEWARK, N.J. – At auditions filmed Thursday before a live audience for “The X Factor,” Simon Cowell seemed to want people to move on from the shakeup on the show’s judges panel replacing British pop singer Cheryl Cole with American counterpart Nicole Scherzinger.

“It wasn’t really such a big deal as everybody thought. … Truth is you’ve got to move on. It’s about the contestants. They’ve got no interest in us bickering,” Cowell said at the auditions in New Jersey.

Earlier in the week, Fox and producers announced Cole was out and Scherzinger, who originally was signed on to co-host the show, would slide over to the judges table alongside Cowell, Paula Abdul and LA Reid.

He said the show will not re-tape episodes already filmed that feature Cole.

“Show it. I mean it’s reality TV. There’s no point in lying about it,” he said. “It is what it is.”

Cowell said it was a no brainer to slide Scherzinger over to the judge’s table when the position opened up.

“I’ve worked with Nicole before. I think she would have killed me if I had given the job to someone else. She’s very good at this. You know, she knows what she’s doing and so it was an easy transition.”

E! has revealed that the lucky guy that will be cohosting the U.S. edition of “X Factor” will Nicole is Steve Jones.

Via E!

We already know L.A. Reid and Cheryl Cole are set for the judges’ table but that still leaves one position open. At one point we thought it might be Mariah Carey or maybe even Nicki Minaj, but nope! And we’re still waiting for that big announcement.

But all is not lost. We know the names of the hosts so that’s something! And they are…

Nicole Scherzinger and Steve Jones, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

We know Scherzinger as the hot lead singer of The Pussycat Dolls who went solo and then dominated on last season’s Dancing With the Stars.

Now who is this Steve Jones guy?

Looks like we’ve got another British import! The 34-year-old is a big league live TV host in the UK where he’s known for shows like the popular music series T4 Music and a BBC celebrity panel quiz show, As Seen on TV. Jones beat out the previous frontrunner, High School Musical’s Corbin Bleu, for the gig and congrats from fellow Brits have already started rolling in via Twitter.

“Congrats to Steve Jones on landing the US X Factor co-hosting gig,” Piers Morgan tweeted, “great guy, really pleased for him.”
