Nicole Scherzinger has just made her debut to acting with Men In Black 3 and has revealed to the masses how she prepped herself for the villainous role…
Large doses of Led Zeppelin, obviously!
The stunning singer-turned-actress has taken on the role of villain Lily Poison in the sci-fi movie, starring alongside Will Smith, Tommy Lee Jones and Josh Brolin.
And she explained to BANG Showbiz that music was a very big part of her inspiration for the character:
“I listened to my heavier music and I listened to Led Zeppelin and I kind of got in that frame of mind because music is what inspires me most. I worked with my acting coach a lot and she told me about lots of crazy things to think about while I was in character, but I better not tell you what she said.”
That sounds fair enough – we all find our moods affected by the music we listen to, after all, so it makes sense that it would play a part in helping someone get into character!
Despite finding it “fricking scary” being on a film set, Nicole was ready to admit that having close friend Will Smith around was very inspiring:
“I didn’t have any scenes with Will but he’s a close friend and he is one of the most brilliant people that I know, he’s very inspiring to be around. I worked a lot with Jemaine Clement and he’s unbelievable.”
The London Fress Press is reporting that Nicole and katy Perry are two of five celebrities in the running to replace Kelly Rowland on X Factor in the U.K.
Katy Perry and Nicole Scherzinger are among the big names in consideration to fill Kelly Rowland’s vacant seat on the X Factor judging panel in the U.K., according to longtime star Louis Walsh.
The Irish svengali has let it slip that there are five celebrities being considered for former Destiny Child star Rowland’s job.
He tells the Irish Herald newspaper, “Iâve worked with Nicole and Katy before and I would love to work with them again, they were fantastic.”
Current X Factor Australia judge and former Spice Girls star Melanie Brown, Anastasia and ex-judge Sharon Osbourne are also being considered.
Walsh adds, “Mel B knows the format so well… Anastasia has sold millions of records and is a big star and I would give anything to work with Sharon again.”
Walsh currently judges the show with Take That’s Gary Barlow and pop star Tulisa Contostavlos.
Nicole chatted with Hollyscoop about her upcoming part in the new Men In Black movie.
Ever since Simon Cowell made the shocking announcement earlier this year that he fired both Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul from the X Factor judges table, we havenât heard that much from the former Pussycat Doll.
However, since being axed from The X-Factor, Nicole has been busier than ever!
Hollyscoop caught up with the artist who says sheâs working on her next solo album and will soon be gracing us with her presence on the big screen.
âYes, I have a little part in Men In Black III, but itâs an honor. Itâs coming out Memorial Day Weekend,â Scherzinger tells us at the third annual Women in Music 2012 Event.
We think sheâs just being humble when she talks about her âlittle partâ in MIB III, she tells us sheâs playing âthe villainâs girlfriend. So Iâm kind of a bad-ass chick too. It was so much fun. It was crazy too. This is my first movie, so…â
We have fond memories of crazy action and stunt scenes in the first two MIB flicks, so can we expect to see Nicole Scherzinger in her first ever action sequence?
âYeah, youâll see,â she teases.
As for her upcoming album, Nicole says, âJust finished my first European solo tour so now Iâve been in the studio non-stop working on that, so I have music coming out soon.â
Scherzinger says to expect her new music to sound unlike anything youâve heard before.
âItâs not like anything on the radio, thatâs for sure,â she says of her upcoming single, âItâs very empowering like tonight for women. No, I donât want to categorize it as a certain genre.â
Sony Pictures Releasing GmbH and TelefĂłnica Germany are currently planning what could very well be the biggest bash of a movie premiere. Some 7,000 fans will be able to see Men in Black 3 on May 14 in Berlin. Will Smith, Josh Brolin, Nicole Scherzinger and director Barry Sonnenfeld are expected to attend the 3D screening at the O2 World. All proceeds from the event will benefit Bambi Stiftung, the charitable foundation of publisher Hubert Burda, whose media holdings include over 250 magazines worldwide with almost 70 titles in its German home market.
After the cancellation of Kylie Minogue and Kelis’ performances at this weekend’s F1 Rocks Malaysia concert at the eleventh hour, local events company Jojo Events has roped in Australian rocker Orianthi to front the pre-F1 concert, now repackaged as Twin Towers @ Live 2012.
The 27-year-old guitar goddess, named one of 12 Greatest Female Electric Guitarists by Elle magazine, was the late Michael Jackson’s lead guitarist for his ‘This Is It’ concert series. This will be Orianthi’s second stint in Malaysia, having performed here in 2010.
American pop star Nicole Scherzinger will also be joining Orianthi at this weekend’s concert. Scherzinger is the former front woman of the now disbanded The Pussycat Dolls, and the girlfriend of McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton.
And that’s not all: a yet-to-be-announced K-pop band is also being roped in to share the stage with both Orianthi and Scherzinger.
Aussie singer Minogue and American R&B star Kelis were originally scheduled to perform at KLCC as part of the F1 Rocks Malaysia festivities on the 23rd and 24th of March , but the London-based organizers, Enterprise Entertainment Ltd., pulled the plug at the very last minute due to “unforeseen circumstances.”
The singer, who is a regular to the UAE thanks to her relationship with Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton, will perform a selection from her latest album including hit singles âKiller Love’ and âDon’t Hold Your Breath’
Dubai:Â Get ready for a killer night. Former Pussy Cat Doll and X Factor USA judge Nicole Scherzinger will perform at the Cirque Du Soir nightclub, in the Fairmont Hotel Dubai, on Tuesday.
The singer, who is a regular to the UAE thanks to her relationship with Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton, will perform a selection from her latest album including hit singles âKiller Love’ and âDon’t Hold Your Breath’.
A former lead singer of the all-female burlesque band, the Pussycat Dolls, who had massive global hits including âWhen I Grow Up’, âButtons’ and âDon’t Cha’, Scherzinger’s latest album, also called âKiller Love’, features collaborations with Sting and Enrique Iglesias.
Nicole Scherzinger has opened up for the first time about her departure from âThe X Factor.â
In an interview with Access Hollywood correspondent Tim Vincent on Tuesday, as she announced her new role as Global Brand Ambassador for Herbal Essences, Nicole addressed parting ways with the FOX show.
âWhat happened?â Tim asked.
âWhat happened? Well, all I know is that I gave 110 percent to that show,â Nicole told Tim in Los Angeles on Tuesday. âI know everybodyâs talking about it, theyâre saying good, bad, they love me or hate me, but the one thing you canât say is that I didnât give it my all.â
Last week, FOX confirmed that Nicole, fellow judge Paula Abdul and show host Steve Jones would not be back for a second season on Simon Cowellâs singing reality competition, and Nicole told Tim she enjoyed her time on the stateside version.
âI had a wonderful experience on the show,â Nicole continued. âI loved being a part of my âX Factorâ family. Nothing could obviously prepare me for everything I had to go through, all the emotions and stuff, but I have no regrets. Iâve always believed in never looking back and just moving forward and Iâve got an amazing year to look forward to.â
Steve famously told Access Hollywood Liveâs Billy Bush and Kit Hoover last year that if he did part ways with âThe X Factor,â heâd be calling Nicole in hopes of a possible romance.
Nicole told Tim that Steve hasnât yet reached out, and suggested that if he did, his chances werenât particularly good.
âNo,â she laughed. âHeâs like a brother.â
In addition to her new Herbal Essences Global Brand Ambassador gig, Nicole has a host of music-related endeavors in the works now that she isnât returning to âThe X Factor.â
âIâm kicking off with my European headlining tour, Iâm leaving in a few days for that,â she said, joking she was âactually doing choreography moves right before we were filming [this interview].â
In addition to her role in the Will Smith box office vehicle âMen in Black 3,â Nicole said she recently felt her passion reignited for musical theater.
âLast year I sang âPhantom of the Operaâ for the royal family and for Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, so that reignited me to want to be back in the theater again, so I think Iâm gonna do some more theater work this year,â she said.
âI grew up in musical theater and Iâve always dreamed of playing Christine and Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber asked me to play Christine in âPhantom of the Operaâ for the royal family at the Royal Variety Show,â Nicole continued. âSo Iâm gonna get back to theater this year, some more movies and my album is coming out in the U.S. â my âKiller Loveâ album, so Iâm putting the finishing touches on it.â
