“When I’m in the UK, I pop into [British store] Boots and pick up [brand] No7 foundation, but my favourite skincare treat is raw coconut oil,â she explained to InStyle.
âMy aunt extracts it from her coconut tree in Hawaii and sends it to me in jars. It’s anti-bacterial and super-hydrating. You can use it on your body and your face.”
One of the singerâs most striking features is her thick, dark mane of hair.
In order to keep her locks glossy, the 34-year-old reaches for her top tried and tested products.
âI’m constantly drying out my hair using straighteners, so I rely on Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Shampoo and conditioner to rehydrate my hair,â she revealed.
âThey contain Hawaiian coconut extract, but being of Hawaiian descent and a real nature girl, I fell in love with it.â
With her luscious locks, itâs no wonder Nicole is the celebrity ambassador for Herbal Essences.
The star revealed an unusual secret to keeping her hair in tip-top condition.
âIt sounds horrible, but I think the secret is not washing it every single day,â she recently said.
âIn my line of work, itâs always the day after thatâs the best for shoots and stuff, so I wash it every few days. And when I donât wash it so much, then I donât have to cut it as much because I donât have as many split ends.â

During the awards show, a one-time only exclusive remake of the original commercial, which memorably featured a woman on an airplane going all âWhen Harry Met Sallyâ over her shampoo, aired with Scherzinger making a cameo. That served as the kickoff to a new campaign â for the return of the brand’s Smooth & Shine collections â in which the singer does her own modern version of the promo.
Likening the shoot to a âcrazy, off the wall music videoâ in which âI go in the bathroom and a whole other world is created,â Scherzinger tells omg!, âWe took the original to a whole other level. Itâs definitely the 2013 version.â
And the 34-year-old beauty is not at all shy about having her âSallyâ moment on TV.
âI call it my Herbal Essences hairgasm commercial,â she laughs. âItâs so funny talking to my mom and dad about it: âRemember the hairgasm commercial? Yes, yes, yes? Iâm so excited for you to see it.ââ
And how do her parents feel about her shrieking with pleasure over her âorganicâ experience?
âThey are excited because everybody loved the original commercial,â Scherzinger smiles. âItâs a classic. Everybody knows it. It was fun. It was spicy. It was different. It was memorable. And I got to remake it!â
As for the final product, âI love how it turned out. Itâs so reflective of my personality. I love Herbal Essences. I grew up with it. I was born in Hawaii, so Iâm nature girl. Then to be able to add the humor and sassiness and sensuality in the commercial is just awesome. Itâs the perfect marriage,â says Scherzinger, who is the brandâs global ambassador.
